What’s this Movie About?
When
Carol looks into a mirror -- any mirror -- she sees images that horrify and
repulse her. She's not a Medium, she's not a Ghost Whisperer, she's a frightened
young woman on the edge of madness.

her final vision of terror?

Review:
On my recent LA trip I had the opportunity to watch
Reflections, the short film starring Adrienne Wilkinson with a cameo by
Zoe Bell. A psychological thriller that gripped me from the opening scene to the
very end. Unfortunately the film wasn’t long enough because this deserves to be
a feature film.
Adrienne was phenomenonal; her portrayal as Carol, a young woman with
extraordinary powers of foreseeing certain events when she looks into any
reflective surface. The suspense and intrigue were so well done that it gripped
me from the moment it starts. Short films usually don’t have such an impact on
me because the writing lacks punch and my interest wanes very quickly. Many a
Saturday night spent at the movies was an exercise in frustration because the
short film before the feature bored me. Seldom do I find a short film and I
wanted to groan in frustration when it ended. The writing, acting and direction
of this film was sharp.
I wouldn’t want to spoil the ending because it has quite an impact; this short
film has many levels and each layer has a depth to it that it makes you think. A
film that makes you think is rare because it doesn’t rely on explosions or a car
chase to distract you from the bad writing or the poor direction.
It’s no accident that this film has won multiple awards for best short film at
film festivals and Adrienne for best actress. It deserves the kudos it has
received.
If you have a chance to see this short film, you will not be disappointed. It’s
a real treat. |
