The Warrior Princess Keeps The Faith

 

A cancelled episode of Xena: Warrior Princess (starring Lucy Lawless, left) will be screened on Network Ten.

In April, Hindu groups around the world campaigned to have the episode, titled "The Way", banned, claiming it portrayed the Hindu faith as cheap entertainment.

Universal, which produces the series, altered the episode to remove the "insenssitive images" and finally screened it in the US last month.

The opening credits state: The producers of the following episode took liberties with Hindu dieties and historical timelines, but their sole intent was to illustrate the beauty and power of the Hindu religion."

The episode will screen next Saturday (October 16) at 7:30 pm.
