Unknown fours years ago, the 30-year-old New Zealander is now a world class star as Xena: Warrior Princess in one of the world's most watched syndicated series. She can also sing, and has appeared in Broadway in the musical Grease.
FRAMEWORK
THE statuesque star with piercing blue eyes stands almost 178 cm. She's naturally fair-haired, by dyes it black for Xena. Xena is a marvelous tanned beauty. "They paint on the tan with a sponge, which takes about five minutes," she says "It takes a lot longer to get off!"
EXERCISE
TWO years ago, Lawless broke her pelvis in four places and spent four weeks in hospital after being thrown from a horse. She exercised three hours a day to regain her strength.
"I increased my swimming, and I used dumbbells made specially for use in water," She also got in some extra yoga and kick-boxing: "I built up my tolerance to pain, and was once again able to do any stunt that came my way on the show".
DIET
AS you'd expect from a warrior princess, Lawless begins the day with a hearty breakfast, "I eat beans and bacon, then when I'm sitting in the make-up room, they bring me a bowl of porridge and a couple of eggs."
Next comes a big lunch to give her energy to make it through the day. "My favourite is lamb shanks. I eat it alot of meat, and veges I grow myself, because it helps to heal the kind of bruises I get in the show."
Lawless finishes the day with a light dinner.
LOVE LIFE
LAWLESS is married to Xena co-creator and executive producer Rob Tapert, Lawless is expecting their first child later this year. She has a 10 year old daughter, Daisy, with her former husband Garth Lawless.
As Xena, she's togged out in boots, leather mini skirt and metal breastplates. She receives a alot of fan mail from fellas -- and from women, who see her as a role model.
