Having already gained a cult following on Sky 1 this hit American series finally makes its debut on terrestrial television. Starring New Zealand born actress Lucy Lawless (left) as an ancient heroine who wages war against mythical beasts adn the forces of evil, Xena has been described as the ultimate symbol of girl power.
I'm more relaxed now about being a role model," says Lucy. "I've finally realised it doesn't mean people are encouraged to be like me - they're just encouraged to go out and be more of themselves."
And Lucy's own role model? "I think Madonna is an admirable creature,' say says, 'but I don't intend to model my career on hers. Xena's breastplace won't go suddently pointy."
