I sing the song of discovery and of a land with the strangest animals…

When Xena and I arrived at our next destination we decided to go in search of the locals to find out more about the area. At first glance the place was mostly covered with bush and the local wildlife was very

strange indeed.

There were brown animals that seemed to jump around on their hind legs. I was hoping to get close to one to pat it, but they were very flighty animals. And I swear as we passed a bird it was laughing at us. All the while I felt like we weren’t alone, like we were being watched… but no matter how hard we looked, we could not see any people. I got the feeling that, if there were any people out there, they wouldn’t have hurt us. They were probably more wary of us than we

were of them.

Xena said that we had probably discovered new land and that we should think of a name to tell the scholars back in Greece. I thought that Ailartsua sounded like an impressive name. Eventually we decided to continue our journey and travel South-East. As we were sailing away from the land, I saw a huge ship off in the distance that seemed to be going towards the land we just left. On the side was

written ‘HMS Endeavour’.
