AUSXIP's Atomic Meltdown Recovery...

The recovery from May's AUSXIP Atomic Meltdown is still ongoing. I've been working on bringing back the AUSXIP Legend of the Seeker news archive (that's currently up to November 2008) and now I'm happy to report that my site dedicated to Steven Sears is back online!

I posted a note from Steven on 2 May 2009 and then AUSXIP got hit by the hackers and the seriously dead server so you all may  not have read Steven's update on his new job with Cookie Jar. Go over and have a read! Thanks everyone for your patience.

The convention page also needs to have parts of it resurrected and other assorted things. This year AUSXIP Celebrates 14 years online and these last few months, I can see where all the work has gone <g>

Once again thanks for your patience!

What a Shocking Day...

Goodbye Michael

Shock News - Michael Jackson Dead!

I was driving into work this morning and turned on the radio to the shock news that Michael Jackson has died. I'm in shock. Michael suffered a heart attack at the age of 50 and couldn't be revived. I grew up listening to Michael's music (and he was only 5 years older than me). I love his music. I won't go into his personal life but his extraordinary musical talent is undeniable and the world has lost a SUPREMELY talented man. He was a muscial legend and a muscial genius.

I find myself feeling the same way I felt when I learnt that Elvis had died...wow. Unbelievable.

Goodbye Farrah

It is with great sadness I woke up this morning to the news that one of the women I admired so much as I was growing up had passed away overnight. Farrah Fawcett, who entranced a young kid with her bubbly personality and her acting gift has lost her battle with rectal cancer. I admired Farrah so much. Her portrayal of the battered woman who fought back in The Burning Bed was truly an amazing performance. Ryan O'Neil, her long time love (and fiance) issued this statement today:

"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away," he said. "Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."

Thank you for the hours of enjoyment and for your talent, Farrah. Rest in peace.
