Ladies and Gentlemen
and other assorted Riff Raff…
Announcing…
12th Gathering of the Fans of
Xena: Warrior Princess
Saturday, 17th May
at a new venue!
After 7 successful gatherings at István's Café in Waverley, the time has come for us to move on. Actually, Stephen and Lisa sold their café and we have to move on.
We now announce our new venue … wait for it…
The King Edward Room at St George Leagues Club, Kogarah … tadaaaa …
Yes, we have exclusive use of a large separate room that seats 50 people comfortably, large screen and projector and surround sound. And we have the room until midnight.
We are now madly planning the programme, which will include:
- Exceptional prizes with a "Wow!" factor of 10
- Quizzes and games such as "Persona Historicus", "Claim the Disclaimer" and "Heads or Tails?" all Xena-related, of course!
- Screening of 3 fantastic Xena episodes - this time we feature the Battle of the Blondes: Gabrielle and Ephiny - have you nominated your most favourite episodes, yet?
- Something very special from our own Video God, Mark - but this is a secret. Let's just say that he has come across some very rare footage of one our favourite Amazons…
- Lucky Door Prize draw and
- All the usual and unusual things that happen, which make the night full of fun.
About St George: See St George Leagues Club web site at http://www.stgeorge.org.au/club/
- The club's bistro is open from 5 pm to 8.30 pm while the café, bar and grill are open 24 hours so refreshments are always available.
- Parking is plentiful and unrestricted.
- While these are restricted premises, anyone under 18 is very welcome to join us and we will escort him or her to our room.
- Dress codes do apply. Basically this means neat and clean and smartly dressed.
Because, unlike István's, this room is not free, we ask that you make a small contribution of $2 to help cover the cost. Your usher and toll collector will be Mary Rose (Thank you, Mary Rose)We have organised a shuttle service between the club and Kogarah station (thank you Pris; thank you Bec) for those who will be using public transport. (Any more volunteers?) You can view the train timetable at

Last but not least, we wish to heap many thanks and lots of praise on Stephen and Lisa of István's Café, and their son, Áron, who have so very generously and unselfishly supported us over the last year and a half. They opened up their place, gave up their time and looked after us like we were old friends. Thank you and may all your dreams come true.
