Watching the movie "Monkeybone" starring Brendan Fraser and Bridget Fonda (2001) ... there was a scene in which Brendan's character Stu was about to go meet Death (played by Whoopi Goldberg) and his cartoon sidekick/creation Monkeybone is scared so Stu says "Don't worry I'll protect you" to which Monkeybone sarcastically replies "Oh okay, Xena Warrior Princess". The following is from Sharon Delaney
It's in the very early stages, but, on the chance that we actually get to pull this off, I would like to collect photos (emailed jpgs, not actual pics) of locations and screengrabs of scenes shot at these locations. What we're hoping to do for Kit #7 is go to the various locations with Lucy and Renee and have them talk about shooting there. Sort of "Coffee Talk on Location" <G> And I'd like to have printouts of the scenes to refresh their memories. So, the more stuff I have, the merrier! I've bookmarked the pages of cr's New Xenaland page, Bevis King and Adrian Petford. If you think of scene and want to relate it to a location photo on one of their pages, just describe which location photo it goes with and on who's page. And please include the episode title of the scenes.

Many thanks for any help you folks can give me.

The following is from

A while back fans of the biggest Swedish Xena mailinglist gathered on the web to discuss their discontent with the fact that there is no good forum for fans to spread and recieve information about the show in Sweden. We wanted to unite and create a space to make ourselves heard, mainly to other Xenites, but also to non-Xenites. The idea was further developed by a group of three people (where I'm included), and took the form of a new Xena magazine - written completely by the fans. The developing group of three act as editors for the mag, while all of the articles are written by fans. The articles discuss the show from different perspectives. Some are based on fact (about the show or about related issues) and some are based on opinion. Valkyria is not afraid to let people speak their minds and are not afraid to criticize things. Valkyria will analyze, debate, inform and entertain.

The first issue will be out very, very shortly and will be availible to international fans. The mag is in Swedish, but readers who don't speak Swedish will recieve a written translation of ALL the articles when they buy the mag. That means this mag isn't only interesting for collectors - but to everyone who is interested in the show at all. The first issue contains a long interview with writer/procucer Steven L. Sears, among other things. In future issues we will be widening our perspective, dealing with other shows as well as Xena. This to be able to compare an analyze popular culture's relation to society in a better way, and to understand X:WP better. Examples of
shows we will be dealing with are Buffy, Charmed and X-Files. (We will not limit ourselves to these three additional shows however.) But the basic interest will remain in X:WP.

Please check out http://fade.to/valkyria  for further info and prices.  Depending on how many subscribers we get, the mag will be in colour or in black and white.

The following is from the Bardcon crew:

We will once again be having a raffle at Orlando BardCon this year. We have designated StoryPlus Foundation as our charity. This is an non-profit agency that helps our children to become literate, and further encourages them to be readers, writers and thinkers.

We have all kinds of goody boxes, but this raffle will be at BardCon only. So if you're not going to be here, but you want to play, you will need to find a proxy.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll in Orlando.

10 January

There is speculatioin starting to circulate about a possible Xena movie. Lucy mentioned a movie in the latest Lesbian News magazine interview and yesterday she was on 91ZM in New Zealand. She indicated a movie was in the works. According to Sharon Delaney from Creation Entertainment

"Rob would love to do one and has been working toward that end.  But nothing definite has been set yet.  It's still in the "3 or 4 years down the road" stage."

So it looks as if we are to wait just a little bit more for that movie.
