This is my first try at fan fiction and it is based on Star Trek Voyager
The wolf/collie hybrid ran for miles, trying to figure
out his
surroundings through the dense forest. The confusion and fear gripped
him
like a cold wet hand. He had never felt like this before. The wolfdog
stopped panting. What was going on? He couldn't think clearly. Everything
was happing so fast. So he ran some more. Somehow he thought it was
all a
dream and he would wake up safe with his family. But the dogs kept
coming.
He tried to face them off but they were bigger than him. They tore
into him
like a rag doll but with bones and blood. He cried out but he couldn't
make
any more noise after that because he was going unconscious.
Janeway led the away team to the surface of the planet.
She saw the
beautiful woods and thought of earth. In fact this reminded her a lot
of
earth. But then again it should. She had heard about this planet from
a
group she traded for trilithium. It seemed that a group of aliens had
visited earth and relocated a number of its plant and animal life.
While
there were no people here they had developed undistributed.
Meanwhile the Doctor was going through the
woods categorizing the
different species and came across a big ball of fur mated with fur.
The fur
was attached to a dog like creature.
He noticed the creature move and saw
that it was still alive. He put
his tricorder over it and saw that it was a wolf dog hybrid, probably
about
five years of age. The dog looked up at him and whimpered, his eyes
scared
and alone.
The dog looked up at the man standing
over him. The wolf felt his
bones broken and face wet with blood, but couldn't think of what to
do. Was
he supposed to growl? His mind was all filled up with images and feeling
but
all he could think of was the pain. The wolfs body was broken and his
mind
was cloudy.
Janeway came up to the Doctor and
looked at the dog with sympathy. He
reminded her of her dogs at home. She said" I think we should take
this dog
to the ship with us." The Doctor answered "What about the prime directive?"
But Janeway insisted. "We need something to study don't we?" The Doctor
agreed but he was still concerned about the ecosystem of this place.
"Remember this has been untouched by human hand for millions of years.
He
stood by the dog as Janeway said "Three to beam up"
