I need to answer a question that I've been getting asked over the last few days. The Bard's Corner is NOT closing down. This question arose with the advent of the ebook versions of the stories which are currently housed on this site. The ebook section hasn't been updated and Mesh voluteered while I was at Dragon*con to convert the html files to ebooks. So short answer to the question is NO ;-)

The following is from Sharon at Creation Entertainment:

Lucy will be doing publicity interviews for her upcoming appearance on thepremiere 2-part episode of The X-Files which airs Nov 4 and 11.  Check your local listings for the time and station X-Files is shown in your area.  I have a listing of some print interviews at this time.  The ones I don't have dates for could run anytime from now until just before each of the X-Files episodes airs.  I'll update any live interview appearances she makes as I get them.  None are scheduled at this time and if/when they happen, it will be closer to the air dates of the episodes.

Marilyn Beck/Stacy Jenel Smith -- syndicated celebrity news column -- I found it in today's (10/16) Daily News in Burbank.
Copley News Syndicate -- syndicated newspaper column by Eirik Knutzen -- keep your eyes peeled for this one.  I don't know when it will run.

Chicago Tribune -- start checking -- no date yet.

  • News from the Dearborn, Michigan Creation Convention by Queen Bee
I just got back from the Dearborn, Michigan con. The only real news is that Creations will finally be taking orders for the Pasadena tape of  Lucy and Renee within the next 2-3 weeks. Watch for photos of the con. Kevin and Hudson on stage was the best! Hudson was wearing a harem type outfit, which she auctioned off with the  help of Kevin wearing it! LOL! He took off his clothes, (he wears boxers), on stage. That made my day. :) Kevin put on the harem outfit, while Hudson wore his clothes. A woman asked if she could give $20 for charity to hug Kevin. Well, Hudson said if any girls would like to do the same we could. So, naturally about 100 girls ran up on stage, me included, and put $20 wherever we could find a spot on Kevin. He was very gracious and posed for photos. They managed to raise over $2100 for charity in about 20 minutes. Hudson's outfit went for an additional $2000.

  • Lucy reveals in her latest interview with Ian Spelling, she will be in the Vagina Monologues in New Zealand for a limited time in February. The official Vaginal Monologues site decribes the show as:
In The Vagina Monologues, Eve Ensler has given voice to a chorus of lusty, outrageous, poignant, brave, highly original and thoroughly human stories.  Based on interviews with a diverse group of women – from a Long Island antique dealer to a Bosnian refugee – the play brazenly explores the humor, power, pain, wisdom, outrage, mystery and excitement hidden in vaginas.  Having seen The Vagina Monologues, no one – woman or man – will ever look at the world the same way again. Xenaverse News

  • In the interview with Ian Spelling, Lucy has revealed that the producers and herself finally understood why fans were upset about the series ender. Here is an excerpt from that interview

``At the end,'' she says, ``what we did was take Gabrielle's soul mate away from her. Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) and Xena were split up. And I think that had a dreadful resonance for very many of our fans.

    `For that I'm really sorry.''

That said, Lawless adds, some viewers mistakenly believed that the show's makers - chief among them her husband, producer/writer Robert Tapert, who co-wrote and directed ``A Friend in Need'' - plotted each episode with an eye toward the effect it would have on viewers.

``We really just tried to get a story on film every week,'' Lawless says. ``That's an immense task. But we broke their hearts (with the finale), I think.''

Attack on America

  • I am passing this along because I think it's important:
    Hello Everyone,
Shirley's son is a firefighter in NYC working at the World Trade Center. Carolyn's fiancé is also a firefighter working at the WTC. These men and women work 24 hour shifts. Carolyn's fiancé is trained in search and rescue so he is one of the firefighters going into the cracks and crevices, looking for victims as he prays for survivors. Believe me when I tell you they have both seen horrors we could not even imagine. Take your worst nightmare and you still would not be able to imagine the horror. I have been asking Shirley and Carolyn to ask these guys what they need. Something that is not publicized. But, as you know, they have all the supplies they need for now so until they need more I will have to think of something else. BUT I WANT TO DO SOMETHING.

On the news, they are saying that the firemen are getting discouraged because they have not found anyone in more than a week. They leave out the part about the horrific conditions and sights they see, But through it all, they go on and on and on and on. So here is my idea. Let's start a Card Writing Campaign. Go out to your local Hallmark or where ever it is you buy your greeting cards. Buy a card that reflects what your feelings are about their heroic efforts and send it to them at:

    NYC Fire Department
    1 Chase Manhattan Plaza
    New York, NY, USA 10005

Just think how powerful this message can be. If all of you send this e-mail to everyone you know, and they send it to everyone they know and if all of the people who get this note send a card, we can be the start of a miracle. Kind of like when the Post Office delivers all the mail addressed to Santa to Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street. Let's start our own miracle. Let's show these brave men and women how we feel about them. They need our love, support and most of all, our encouragement. DO IT, DO IT, DO IT--- Send those cards!!!!!!

Lucy appears in the Oct/Nov issue of Pavement Magazine in New Zealand

This bi-monthly New Zealand magazine is generally a more alternative read, usually featuring lots of up and coming NZ artists - musical, dramatic - and has articles which are not only a great read but usually very topical.  This issue has a 2 page article about the concerns surrounding Genetic Engineering and the protests of Alannah Currie, who got NZ celebrities to put their concerns on t-shirts and publicize it.  Lucy was among those who put up their hand in an effort to voice their concerns over this very topical issue.  Her t-shirt reads 1+1=3 stop genetic engineering now.  The article itself goes into how and why Alannah thought of and saw her efforts through with this unique awareness raising campaign.
