In The Dead of Night

In The Dead of the night
When her demons come
She sees them again, so many times
The cries, the screams, the painful howls

In the dead of night
She screams out loud
Her demons never relent
They never subside, they never forget

In the dead of night
A steady hand brings her back
Saves her from the nightmare plain
Out of this dread of night

Out of this dread of night
Her soulmate tries
To rid her of these night time cries
Perchance to sleep, perchance to dream

Perchance to sleep, perchance to dream
For one night without the dead
To sleep, to dream of gentler times
But the demons never forget and never relent
